Terms of Service
Last updated:
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of AltForge (the "Service"), a browser-based tool for drafting product-image alt text and generating filename and SKU slugs, available at usealtforge.com. By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
AltForge is a static web application that runs entirely in your browser. It reads the images and spreadsheet data you provide locally on your device and generates editable draft alt text, filenames, and rename manifests. No image or spreadsheet content is uploaded to us or any third party.
2. Free and paid plans
A free tier is available with no account. Paid plans — Pro (€4/month or €29/year) and Lifetime (€59 one-time) — unlock additional features. Prices are shown in euros and, where applicable, exclude or include VAT as indicated at checkout. Paid checkout may not be available at all times; features described as "launching soon" are not yet purchasable.
3. Payments and merchant of record
When paid plans are available, all purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record for the transaction. Lemon Squeezy handles billing, payment processing, and the collection and remittance of applicable sales taxes and VAT. Your purchase is therefore also subject to Lemon Squeezy’s terms and privacy policy. AltForge does not receive or store your full payment-card details.
4. Digital licence
Subject to these Terms and payment of any applicable fees, you are granted a personal or business, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service and its paid features for your own product-listing work. Paid plans grant access to features for the applicable subscription period or, for Lifetime, for the lifetime of the product. You may not resell, redistribute, sublicense, or rent the Service.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service to process content you are not authorized to use;
- attempt to breach, probe, or circumvent the security of the site or its hosting;
- use automated means to abuse, overload, or disrupt the Service;
- reverse engineer, copy, or repackage the Service to offer a competing product; or
- use the Service for anything unlawful or in breach of a platform’s own rules.
6. Your content and responsibilities
You retain all rights to the images and data you process. Because everything happens on your device, you are solely responsible for that content, for confirming you are authorized to use it, and for reviewing and editing every draft the Service produces before you publish it. Always work on copies and keep backups of your files.
7. Drafts, not guarantees
All outputs are first-draft suggestions assembled from the attributes and templates you provide. The Service does not guarantee accessibility compliance (for example WCAG, the ADA, or the EAA), search rankings, traffic, or sales. See our disclaimers for detail.
8. Availability
The Service is provided on an "as available" basis. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
9. No warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AltForge and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, overwritten files, or lost sales, arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory law, including statutory consumer rights.
11. Refunds and cancellation
Refunds for paid plans are handled under our Refund Policy, which reflects the EU right of withdrawal for digital content. You can cancel a subscription at any time; access continues until the end of the paid period.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the current version. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Mandatory consumer-protection rights of your country of residence remain unaffected. The operator’s details are set out in the Impressum.
